Day nursery in Hilton

Jayne Ezekiel

Hello, my name is Jayne Ezekiel and I am the Manager here at our Hilton Nursery.

I started working with the nursery 11 years ago as an unqualified nursery nurse; through development, hard work and determination I have progressed to gain my qualifications and I am now level 5 qualified and subsequently promoted to Nursery Manager.

I am a mother to 2 energetic boys who have both attended this setting where they have thrived and had an amazing start to their early years. As a mother I know first-hand how hard it can be to return to work leaving your whole world in someone else’s hands. Rest assured you can have confidence in our understanding and care to help to give your child the best possible start in life.

We have an open-door policy and all our team are here to help, support, listen and to ensure that we provide outstanding childcare for you and your family.

I’m very proud that our staff team work hard to support one another and achieve the high standards of childcare that we deliver every day.

Our Rooms

Here at Hilton we are a 91-place nursery and offer:

  • 21 places within our Baby Room
  • 16 places within our Toddler Room
  • 34 places within our Pre-School Room
  • 20 places within our Before & After School Club
  • 20 places within our Holiday Club

The structure of the Baby unit ensures that children’s free time will be devoted to a stimulated atmosphere through free play, with a variety of activities and equipment appropriate to their age, needs and abilities.

All units go outside at least once a day as well as having a choice to free flow. In the nicer weather the children have the option to eat their snacks outside either under the shelter or in picnic style.

We provide Baby Wipes free of charge.

We have a Key Person system in which every child is allocated a Key Person who meet individuals’ needs based on their home routine. The children are provided with a daily diary which staff complete every session to inform you of how your child has been during the day, what activities they have been doing and what they have eaten. All Staff will also ensure a full hand over takes place upon collection.

The ratio of Staff to children within this room is 1:3 to ensure the highest level of care for all children, and always time for lots of cuddles!

Our self-contained Baby Unit includes:

  • Safe crawl area
  • Hard-Floor area for Messy play / Meal Times
  • Flexible Open play area (includes a Black & White area & sand play)
  • Outdoor area
  • Milk Kitchen
  • Separate Sleep area with Cots (Observation windows and intercom are fitted to monitor sleeping children)
  • Shared Changing area

This is a free-flowing room with access to an outdoor area. The Staff within this unit plan structured activities that are inviting and, age & stage appropriate following the guidelines of the Early Years Foundation Stage .

The ratio of Staff to children within this room is 1:4 to ensure a high quality of care and enabling small group activities to take place.

We have a Key Person system in which every child is allocated a Key Person. At the end of the day a member of Staff will give you a full hand over of what activities your child has been taking part in, what they have eaten, if they have slept etc. This information will also be written in their daily diaries.

In Toddlers, the children start to become more independent by serving the majority of their own meals and drinks themselves, we feel this helps them to really get to know their likes and dislikes as they are given a choice

Our self-contained Toddler Room includes:

  • Free flow all-weather outdoor area (includes a growing area, Mud Kitchen, Fairy Garden & Story Teller Chair)
  • Hard-Floor area for Messy play / Meal Times
  • Flexible Open play area (includes a Home Corner & Dressing Up)
  • Cosy area
  • Sleep area
  • Kitchen area
  • Changing area & Toilet facilities for those who are potty training

We have a more structured routine within Pre-School including circle time, self-registration, small group activities etc. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage as a guide to plan age appropriate activities and next steps for each child.

Within Pre-School we begin to introduce school readiness and promote independence. During meal times we have self-service, and in a morning, we have self-registration.

Throughout the day your child will have access to a variety of adult led activities, in conjunction with free choice play, where they can choose what they wish to do/play with. Pre-School has unlimited access to an outside area which they can access throughout the day whenever they choose.

Each child will have a who will individually plan activities and next steps for them. These activities are designed to promote the Seven Areas of Learning. The ratio of Staff to children in this room is 1:8, this allows Staff to provide high quality care of small groups.

Our self-contained Pre-School Room includes:

  • Unlimited access to Outdoor area (includes a Growing Area, Mud Kitchen & Balancing Beam)
  • Dedicated Arts & Crafts Room
  • Flexible Open play area
  • Dedicated Cosy & Reading Room

To complement our Baby, Toddler and Pre-School units, Incredible Kids also offer a self-contained Sensory Room.

The stimulating, soothing, colourful yet tranquil surroundings of our Sensory Room which is dedicated to children of all ages (even our staff love it) allows rich and varied experiences enabling the exploration of textures, lights and sounds using their senses (sight, smell, sound & touch).

Sensory play provides enormous benefits for children; such benefits include:

  • Safe, secure & calming environment allowing children to relax and let their exploratory minds evolve
  • Encourage Social and language skills
  • Encourages Social interaction and awareness of others
  • Stimulates children’s brains leading to vast learning opportunities
  • Promote the learning of new skills
  • Encourages hand and eye coordination

We are extremely lucky to have our own indoor Soft Play area which all children have access to throughout the day. We find this is a fantastic solution when the weather is poor or to allow youngsters to simply burn off all of their extra energy.

Our Soft Play boasts:

  • Designated preparation Kitchen
  • Fun House
  • Rope Bridge
  • Fun Slides
  • Ball Pit
  • Crazy Snakes
  • Extra Large Bouncy Balls
  • Designated Toilet facilities
  • Separate external access

We also hire out our Soft Play for parties upon request. The maximum capacity within our Soft Play is 20. All doors in the nursery are key-fob-access meaning only staff can gain access through the doors, preventing any members of the public gaining access to the nursery through soft play

We offer a reliable and caring childcare service for children aged 5-11 years attending Hilton Primary School . Our Before School Club is from 7.30am (or 8.30am which excludes breakfast) until School drop-off time which usually leaves the building at approximately 8.40am to walk to Hilton Primary School.

During this session children are able to select their own breakfast and then enjoy playing with a variety of resources until we depart for School.

Our After School Club runs from School pick-up through until 4pm/5pm/6pm depending on your chosen session. During this session children will have a two-course snack when arriving back from school and will then be able to play in our own Soft Play centre, read books, sit at the quiet table to complete any homework or choose from a variety of resources to play with until they are collected.

Drinks will be on offer throughout all sessions and all children will have access to the outside area.

The ratio of Staff to children in this Club is 1:10.

We also offer a reliable childcare service for children aged 5-11 years attending any School during School Holidays and/or Teacher Training/Inset days.

During the Holiday Club sessions children will be able to enjoy playing in our Soft Play centre, be creative with lots of different resources and have access to a variety of activities to keep them stimulated.

When attending our Holiday Club children are able to select their own breakfast (if they attend from 7:30am), a morning snack followed by a 2 course lunch and a 2 course afternoon snack.

Drinks will be on offer throughout all sessions and all children will have access to the outside area.
