Hello, I’m Chelsey and I joined Incredible Kids in September 2016 and have been working as a Room Leader and Deputy Manager at our Ashby nursery. In March 2018 I was delighted to accept the promotion of Manager for our Derby nursery and look forward to a new challenge, with new families.
I very quickly decided that this was a company in which I wanted to grow and develop within professionally. I bring with me a wealth of experiences working as a Nursery Nurse, Room Leader, SENCO, Safeguarding Lead and a Deputy Manager alongside my qualifications including a BA (Hons) integrated Working with Children and their Families.
I am extremely passionate about childcare and I am motivated to provide truly amazing childcare and happiness to the children, families and staff. With this in mind I’m really excited about working in partnership with all of our families and Staff in Derby.
Here at Derby we are a 91-place nursery and offer:
The structure of our Baby Room is open plan and can accommodate children aged 12 weeks – 24months. It is brilliantly designed into different areas including a safe crawl area for the babies and space to explore for the older ones. All of our furniture and resources are of high quality, purchased from Community Playthings.
We provide Formula Milk for Babies up to 1 year old.
We have a Key Person system in which every child is allocated a Key Person who meet individuals’ needs based on their home routine.
The children are provided with a daily diary which staff complete every session to inform you of how your child has been during the day, what activities they have been doing and what they have eaten. All Staff will also ensure a full hand over takes place upon collection.
The ratio of Staff to children within this room is 1:3 to ensure the highest level of care for all children, and always time for lots of cuddles!
Our self-contained Baby Room includes:
This is a free flowing room with access to an outdoor area. The Staff within this unit plan structured activities that are inviting and, age & stage appropriate following the guidelines of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The ratio of Staff to children within this room is 1:4 to ensure a high quality of care and enabling small group activities to take place. We have a Key Person system in which every child is allocated a Key Person. At the end of the day a member of Staff will give you a full hand over of what activities your child has been taking part in, what they have eaten, if they have slept etc. This information will also be written in their daily diaries.
Our self-contained Toddler Room includes:
We have a more structured routine within Pre-School including circle time, self-registration, small group activities etc. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage as a guide to plan age appropriate activities and next steps for each child.
Within Pre-School we begin to introduce school readiness and promote independence. During meal times we have self-service, and in a morning, we have self-registration.
Throughout the day your child will have access to a variety of adult led activities, in conjunction with free choice play, where they can choose what they wish to do/play with.
Pre-School has a fantastic free flow outside area which they can access throughout the day whenever they choose.
Each child will have a Key Person who will individually plan activities and next steps for them.
The ratio of Staff to children in this room is 1:8, this allows Staff to provide high quality care of small groups.
Our self-contained Pre-School Room includes:
The staff at the nursery are fantastic and have made a huge contribution to his development, he will be very sad to leave when he starts school.
The nursery has great facilities we especially like the amazing outdoor area, that the children have access to in all weathers, he loves playing the mud kitchen. We also love that all the rooms within the nursery have a pet, something he doesn’t get to experience at home.
Our little boy started at Incredible kids in 2015 he absolutely loves nursery, and comes home talking about all the fun activities he’s taken part in, he loves to sit with us and look through the photos on the parents Facebook page telling us all about his day.
The staff are all so happy, friendly and go the extra mile to ensure your child is progressing and enjoying their time there. All the meals are cooked fresh, they’re healthy and meet my daughters dietary needs. My daughter always says she has a lovely day, and absolutely loves going.
I can honestly say Incredible kids is phenomenal. It’s purpose built, so they have a large open space for the children to play. Lots of free play as well as group activities. They have access to outside space as they wish, which is brilliant for my very physically active girl.
Our daughter has enjoyed her time at Incredible Kids, her confidence has grew so much since she has been there with the help of her keyworker and all the staff. She will miss you all; thank you so much for everything!
My name is Fran, I have worked for the nursery since 2008 as a nursery assistant and covering in the kitchen. I took over as the full time cook in December 2017. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the children enjoy their meals and seeing them taste and learn about new foods.Food at Incredible Kids
